Important Announcement: New Emergency Decrees on Digital Assets Now in Effect

On 13 April 2025, the Royal Thai Government officially enacted two new Emergency Decrees related to the prevention and suppression of technology-related crimes and the regulation of digital asset businesses. These measures are designed to enhance transparency and facilitate the exchange of information related to customer accounts and transactions.

 

Bitazza Thailand, in its capacity as a licensed digital asset broker, fully supports these efforts and is committed to cooperating with relevant authorities to help strengthen trust and security within Thailand’s digital economy. These measures are effective immediately.

 

We would like to reaffirm that the privacy and security of user data remain our highest priority. All personal data continues to be protected under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and no data will be disclosed unless such disclosure is carried out in accordance with legal obligations and under a formal order issued by an authorized government agency.

 

The related Emergency Decrees are:

 

- The Emergency Decree on Measures for the Prevention and Suppression of Technological Crimes (No. 2) B.E. 2568

- The Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses (No. 2) B.E. 2568

 

These new laws clearly outline that licensed digital asset service providers must cooperate with government authorities only in the event of a formal legal order or in cases involving behavior that may be considered a technology-related crime.

 

In such cases, Bitazza may be required to:

 

- Reject account opening requests associated with suspicious activity

- Freeze accounts flagged for potentially unlawful transactions

- Provide necessary information, such as KYC data and transaction details, to support investigations

 

All actions will be taken in accordance with applicable laws and under the supervision or instruction of authorized agencies, such as:

 

- The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

- The Bank of Thailand (BOT)

- The Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO)

- The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) of the Royal Thai Police

 

Please note that everyday users and customers conducting regular account activity are not affected by this change. There is no alteration in how we handle or store your personal information. This legal update simply formalizes operational procedures in specific cases where cooperation with government authorities is required to ensure public safety.
